Florida Man

Audience Input

From their phone, a news story about a Florida man on their birthday.

Born out of the pop culture social media meme, in “Florida Man” the host asks for volunteers from the audience to read headlines by performing a Google search using the terms, “Florida Man + their birthday.” Once searched, the audience member reads the headline and then the actors begin performing a quick scene establishing the characters and the situation inspired by the headline. For instance, with a headline such as, “Florida man holds up liquor store with an alligator,” the scene could be from the perspective of the employee, the perpetrator, or the alligator. An actor that has the idea for the scene can pull others up with them to begin, but other actors may join the scene at any time to add on to it.
