Games Library
The Ponies specialize in short-form improv comedy which centers around creating scenes through the context of games and exercises. Included in our library of games are familiar favorites and original creations. We're always updating our collection too!
Take a look to see how each game is played and check out our guide on how to get your suggestions into the show!

Fortunately/Unfortunately
Two actors stand on the front of the stage and take turns telling a story. One actor always starts their sentence with “fortunately” and is relatively positive, while the other actor always starts with “unfortunately” and is relatively negative. The two remaining actors mime out the story as it is told.

Forward/Reverse
Actors begin a scene based on the audience's suggestion. At any time the host of the game can say "reverse" and the actors must do their best to repeat lines and actions in the reverse order from the point where it was called. The host may then call out "forward" and the actors must repeat the actions and lines just said but now moving forward. This game is great for bits of recalling over-the-top movements or ridiculous lines.

Foursquare
Four players, A, B, C, and D each pick one corner of the stage. The host gets a suggestion for a scene from the audience and assigns it to players A and B on the front corners. The host then says “pan right” and everyone rotates clockwise on the stage. Then the host gets another suggestion and players B and C have a separate, new scene together. Rotate right again, new suggestion, and players C and D have a separate scene together. Rotate right one more time, new suggestion, and players D and A have a separate scene together. Throughout the game, the host will be rotating between these four scenes by either calling “pan right,” known as clockwise, or “pan left,” known as counterclockwise. Each time the scenes are revisited after rotating, the players can pick up right where they left off or go hours, months, or years into the future.

Freeze
Two actors start a scene on stage after getting a suggestion. When a actor off stage sees an interesting position, they yell “freeze!” The two actors freeze in place and that player comes on stage, tapping one of the actors out. The actor who was tapped leaves the stage and the one who just came on takes their exact position. A completely new scene starts based on the physicality and continues until someone else yells “freeze!” and the process is repeated again. If there are more than two actors on stage, more than one player can be tapped out.

Haunted House
One actor is trespassing in a haunted house and leaves the room while the other actors get suggestions for different ghosts that may be haunting the home. Once each ghost actor has a motivation, the visitor returns and enters the haunted house encountering each of the ghosts and interacting with them. The ghosts remain until the visitor can figure out who they are and relieve whatever curse they've been afflicted with.

Helping Hands
Depending on how many actors are playing, either one or two actors will place their hands behind their back, another actor (it helps if they’re a similar height) will put their hands around the first actor to use in place of the original actors hands. The actors with their hands behind their back then act out a scene being unable to use their hands. The actors behind them may then use their hands to gesture, hopefully, wildly.

Highlander
All actors on stage begin acting out a short scene. Once the scene reaches a conclusion, one actor is removed forcing the remaining actors to fill in their part on the fly. Once the scene concludes, another actor is removed and the process repeats. This continues until all but one actor has been removed. “There can be only one!” The last remaining actor has to act out the whole scene, playing all the roles.

Home Videos
One actor portrays the host of a home video submission contest. They interview other actors who are guests on the show while they explain the video they've submitted which will then be acted out by other actors. After 3 or so guests have been interviewed, the host announces a winner and the "video" is replayed.
